Canon HD Camera System
The Canon HD Camera System combines a 3.3MP Full HD CMOS sensor, a 15x optical zoom Canon HD Video Lens and the DIGIC DV III processor to deliver superb Full HD movies. At the highest quality setting, movies are captured at 24Mbps.

Video snapshot
Video Snapshot makes it incredibly easy to share movies. When the Record button is pressed, a 4 second clip is captured. Film live action or choose clips from movies already shot. Then add them to a playlist, select a soundtrack, and you’re ready to watch your movie on a TV – no need for editing. While rights-free tracks are supplied with the camcorder, add your own music selection using the Music Transfer Utility.

Moviemaking made easy
Great features make moviemaking easy. Instant AF is the best way to achieve accurate auto focus at speed. For people shots, Face Detection Technology optimises settings for up to 35 faces per frame. 25p Cinema Mode matches the look of traditional film and also provides enhanced low-light shooting performance.

Night Scene and Low Light modes
Night Scene mode optimises settings for night shooting, reducing noise and ensuring that bright lights aren’t over-exposed. Low Light mode increases sensitivity and brings out more detail in dim conditions.

Ready to go
With Quick Start you’re always ready to shoot in around a second. Pre REC continuously stores 3 seconds of footage while the camcorder is on: once you press Record, you also capture the preceding 3 seconds of action.

Photo shooting
Shoot photos up to 3.3MP photos. In Dual Shot mode, capture 3.0MP stills at any time during video recording without changing modes – controls are set to automatic. Photo Burst grabs 25 stills per second of recorded footage.

Take things further
A range of great accessories is available. The WP-V1 Waterproof Case allows you to take your camcorder to a depth of 40 metres: the LEGRIA HF21 offers a special Underwater shooting mode to keep footage looking natural.
