With this versatile PC Card, laptop users can access network resources, the Internet, and e-mail at 11-Mbps speeds on 11b wireless networks, or on 11a or 11g wireless networks, at speeds up to 54 Mbps—ideal for multimedia applications using audio and video. And, Wi-Fi certification helps ensure interoperability with Wi-FI-certified 11a, 11b, and 11g products from other vendors.
The 3Com Wireless 11a/b/g PC Card delivers one of the most robust suites of standards-based, next-generation security features on the market today. Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2), IEEE 802.1x authentication, and EAP authentication protocols all protect against unwanted network access. MD5 algorithm, AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) and WEP (Wireless Equivalent Privacy) shared-key encryption combine to protect the privacy of all wireless data.
This card offers time-saving features which make it an intelligent choice for busy mobile users. With 3Com Wireless Utility software, you can create profiles with specific wireless LAN settings for each place you travel—just click the proper profile, and you are configured for connection.
