This module provides additional resilient, high-performance inter-workgroup or workgroup-to-backbone Gigabit Ethernet connections for the 3Com® Switch 5500G-EI family.

Eight ports of high-performance Gigabit Ethernet switching with optional Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) transceivers supports both fiber and copper connections.
- Provides eight ports of SFP-based Gigabit connectivity.

- Uses industry-standard SFP modular transceivers, sold separately, to provide a flexible physical media connection. View under "Required and Optional Products" to see the list of 3Com SFP transceivers qualified for this module.

- Inserts easily into the expansion slot at the back of any model of the Switch 5500G-EI family.

- Supports IEEE 802.3z, IEEE 802.3x, IEEE 802.1p, IEEE 802.1D, IEEE 802.1Q.
