The Satellite U840t is our new touchscreen Ultrabook™. At just 19.9mm thin and weighing only 1.58kg, it is an excellent new addition to our family of Ultrabooks™, which are extraordinarily responsive, stylish, and thin. A durable and lightweight brushed aluminium design ensures the Satellite U840t’s premium finish matches its outstanding performance. With fast boot up times, Intel® ULV processors and a battery that lasts up to 8 hours, it also features extensive connectivity including 3 x USB, HDMI and SD ports.

TOUCHSCREEN DISPLAY

With a 35.6cm (14.0”) touchscreen, the U840t gives you the choice to interact with the laptop through touch (ideal for using the new intuitive Windows 8® platform) or to use the traditional keyboard or touchpad with Windows 8 Gesture Control. With everything at your fingertips, you can get the full Windows 8 touchscreen experience: touch, swipe, tap and much more. You will discover fast and fluid ways to switch between apps, move things around and go smoothly from one place to another, giving you full control both at work and play.

Striking design

The Satellite U840t features a striking brushed metal design in ice silver with curved edges and a 35.6cm (14.0”) TruBrite® display for clear sharp images. A streamlined chassis with a large touch pad and integrated buttons make it as pleasant on the eye as it is good to use. A backlit tiled keyboard looks stylish and is ideal for working in darker conditions.

PORTABLE PERFORMANCE

Powered by 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processors for Ultrabook™ and Intel® HD 4000 graphics, the Satellite U840t lets users enjoy HD video content, run multiple programs at once and delivers immersive mainstream and casual gaming capabilities. Intel® Rapid Start Technology provides a speedy boot-up time in under 14 seconds, cutting out waiting time when turning on the Satellite U840t.

LONG LASTING POWER

The U840t offers up to 8 hours battery life, for all day use without having to recharge the battery. The latest battery technology also means that the U840t battery has a longer life span and will last for more re-charges than a standard battery. This will give you a longer lasting battery over time, so you will still experience good battery life run times throughout the life of the laptop. A new eco mode utility also enables you to extend the life span of the battery by a further 30%-40%. Battery life is further enhanced by the use of energy efficient components and a higher capacity integrated battery.

SSD DRIVE

Each Satellite U840t is fitted with an integrated 128GB solid state drive (SSD), a fast and robust storage solution that also helps to further improve overall performance, boot-up and shut-down times, as well as providing ample storage space for large video files, photo libraries, music collections and more.

WIRELESS DISPLAY

Intel® Wireless Display provides the Satellite U840t with a simple wireless streaming solution, enabling users to playback media from the laptop on any compatible TV – freeing digital photo albums, videos and music, and allowing them to be enjoyed on multiple devices around the home.

The impressive U840t series proves that size does not necessarily mean compromising on connectivity. This portable laptop features a versatile set of connectivity options. Swap pictures and files or expand your storage capabilities using the SD card slot, plug into 2 USB 2.0 ports to share content with your other devices. The U840t also features 1 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port so you can benefit from faster transfer speeds. HDMI connectivity enables high definition connectivity from your laptop to AV equipment including your HD TV. Bluetooth 4.0 is the latest Bluetooth standard with fast 24 Mbit/sec transfer rate making it faster and easier to send large files via Bluetooth.
