The SMC7824M/ESW is a feature-rich 10/100 standalone Metro Edge Managed switch with up to 4 Gigabit uplinks. This switch is designed to handle high bandwidth applications and capable of reaching up to 12.8Gbps with a non-blocking single chip switching architecture. It provides cost-effective, ethernet connections for bandwidth-intensive Metro Edge networks that require advanced switching features: Quality of Service (QoS) with eight levels of priority, weighted fair queuing and L2/3/4 IP. With these features the SMC7824M/ESW ensures smooth transmission of mission critical data; VLANs based on frame tags or ports, support for automatic GVRP LAN registration and spanning tree per VLAN provide maximum security and bandwidth efficiency.
