The SMC7824M/FSW is a feature-rich fiber optic standalone Metro Edge Managed switch with up to 4 Gigabit uplinks. This Fiber To The Home (FTTH) switch is designed to handle high bandwidth applications and capable of reaching up to 12.8Gbps with a non-blocking single chip switching architecture. It provides cost-effective, fiber optic connections for bandwidth-intensive Metro Edge networks that require advanced switching features: Quality of Service (QoS) with eight levels of priority, weighted fair queuing and L2/3/4 IP. With these features the SMC7824M/FSW ensures smooth transmission of mission critical data; VLANs based on frame tags or ports, support for automatic GVRP LAN registration and spanning tree per VLAN provide maximum security and bandwidth efficiency. The comprehensive security features include RADIUS, IEEE802.1x, SSH, SSL,TACACS+, and ACL. High port -density and 1.5U high, this switch is ideal for Metro Edge Networks.
