ASUS PIKE (Proprietary I/O Kit Expansion) - Flexible storage options for end users
- Optional PIKE 1064E (4-port SAS) and PIKE 1078 (8-port SAS with Hardware RAID5 ﹠ RAID6) are available for SAS RAID support.
- PIKE card enables on-demand upgrade, and allows customers to invest on basic SKUs for current use.

ASUS Flex-E (Flexibility of PCI-E) – Auto-switch PCI-E configuration for Graphic Card or Storage utilization
- This unique feature makes DSAN-DX a dual-use serverboard. With the auto-switch function, users can enjoy the flexibility of Server/Worksrtaion mode. PCI Express x16 (x16 link) supports professional workstation graphic card; and for Storage utilization, PCI Express x16 (x8 link) is ideal for Infiniband HBA, SATA RAID HBA, Internal ﹠ external SATA RAID HBA.
- Support one PCI Express x16 (x16 link) (auto switch to x8 link if PCI Express x8 (x8 link) on slot five is occupied).
