The 3Com Switch 4500G has 2 rear slots for dual-port 10-Gigabit modules. This module uses XFP transceivers, sold separately.
10-Gigabit Ethernet is a standards-based method for connecting at performance 10x that of Gigabit Ethernet, and is the perfect aggregation technology when deploying gigabit to the desktop or for interconnecting core and distribution switches.

Features:
-Provides two high-performance 10-Gigabit fiber optic connections between devices for bandwidth-intensive applications.
-Uses industry-standard XFP modular transceivers, sold separately, to provide a flexible physical media connection; see "Required and Optional Products" to see the list of 3Com XFP transceivers qualified for this module.
