These new HBAs are the first of a new generation of 4Gb Host Bus Adapters. This 4Gb PCI-x2.0 fibre channel HBA will offer connection to Windows and Linux operating systems on HP Itanium servers attached to HP storage arrays. The primary benefit of these HBAs is to cost effectively improve the speed of transactions between server and SAN. They are priced competitively and will, over time, replace 2Gb HBAs.
