Das HP StorageWorks 1500cs Modular Smart Array (MSA1500) ist ein 2U Fibre-Channel-SAN-Controller Shelf, das mit HP StorageWorks SCSI- und/oder SATA-(Serial ATA-)Laufwerksgehäusen verbunden werden kann. Diese Kombination bietet Kunden eine flexible und kostengünstige Speicherlösung mit hoher Kapazität. Der MSA1500cs wurde als Hardwarebasis für zukünftige Lösungen konzipiert, um einen maximalen Investitionsschutz sicherzustellen. Das MSA1500cs eignet sich ideal für Kunden, die kostengünstige Speicherlösungen benötigen und HP SATA-Gehäuse zum Speichern von Daten verwenden, die keinen hohen Grad an E/A-Leistung erfordern und/oder als nicht unternehmenskritisch eingestuft werden. Mit bis zu acht angeschlossenen SATA-Gehäusen kann das MSA1500cs bis zu 64 TB unkomprimierte Kapazität bereitstellen. Wenn SCSI-Zuverlässigkeit der Enterprise-Klasse erforderlich ist, können bis zu vier SCSI-Gehäuse für eine unkomprimierte Kapazität von 16,8 TB angeschlossen werden.
