This small form factor measures just 25 (w) x 20 (h) x 1.78 (d) mm and weighs only 2.8g. Compared to other flash memory cards, the xD Picture Card can boast impressive read and write speeds - up to 3MB/sec Write* and 5MB/sec Read.

No wonder its name is said to be inspired by the phrase 'eXtreme Digital'.
