An entry level member of the Cisco Integrated Services Router Generation 2 (ISR G2) family, the Cisco 867VAE Integrated Services Router offers connectivity to teleworkers and small branches. This ISR offers the flexibility to be deployed on any one of the following WAN options:

- Gigabit Ethernet (GE)
- Asymmetric DSL (ADSL2+) over POTS
- Very-high-bit-rate DSL (VDSL2) over POTS

The Cisco 867VAE comes in two models:

- Base router for a basic IP connectivity solution
- Secure router for advanced security and quality-of-service (QoS) applications
